San Rafael Hotel is a 17th-century colonial house located on the corner of the Santa Barbara plaza in the historic center of Mompos.
After decades of abandon, we have lovingly restored San Rafael after a meticulous intervention project of 5 years. We have preserved the original spaces, renovating them whilst remaining faithful to the colonial authenticity of the building and offer our guests the comforts of the 21st century.
The location of San Rafael is unbeatable; in the northern corner of the iconic Santa Barbara square in the Albarrada de Mompox (River Avenue).
Inside we find two large gardens full of tropical plants that refresh the lush heat of town on the banks of the Magdalena River. Its eight-meter ceilings speak of the splendor of its past and invite visitors to appreciate its beautiful colonial architecture.
From the hall, corridors and rooms you can see the river and its surroundings; the breezes of the Magdalena bass beaches keep the house at a pleasant temperature during the hot mummies days.
We are part of the Casa Amarilla family and we are only 150 meters away. For 12 years we have been working to offer our guests the best experience in their visit to Mompox. We are eager to share this jewel of colonial architecture with all our guests.
